Service Ladder

The Tide & Field Approach

The goal is not simply to photograph a project. Each assignment is approached as a visual story built from five complementary layers:

Wildlife — Species using, depending on, or affected by the environment.

Habitat — The larger ecosystem, landscape, season, and sense of place.

People — Scientists, conservationists, field crews, educators, volunteers, visitors, and other relevant participants.

Process — Monitoring, restoration, research, sampling, education, construction, or fieldwork.

Details — Plants, tracks, equipment, water, textures, environmental indicators, and small moments that complete the story.

Example: Wetland Restoration Assignment

A commercial environmental assignment might include:

·       Establishing: wide wetland views, waterways, vegetation, environmental context

·       People: ecologists working, measurements, equipment, candid field interactions

·       Wildlife: birds, amphibians, insects, mammals, or other species utilizing the site

·       Details: native plants, water, sampling equipment, tracks, signs of wildlife

·       Hero Images: a small set of high-impact photographs suitable for a website feature, case study, annual report, or campaign
